Hello! I’m Susan Martorano, Floral Consultant

I live in the village of Harby right in the middle of the Vale of Belvoir and my flower studio is in my home, so an easy  one minute commute to work for me!  I have always loved the beauty of flowers and get as much pleasure from assembling a simple vase of seasonal flowers for the kitchen table as I do from creating an elaborate design for a wedding.

I enjoy floral design and sharing my knowledge with others and  welcoming people to my light and airy studio .All my workshops are relaxed, informal and informative. People get hooked and come back time and time again to learn different skills.  Your can read more about Rose Cottage Flower School here

My  favourite flowers are Peonies, and the beautiful scented O’Hara roses.  My floral style is more towards the vintage, open, rustic, style with elements of chic! though  I just love working with flowers whatever style or flower combination or colour.

My other passion is baking, so homemade cake is always available on workshops and I have been told, I make quite a good scone too !

Rose Cottage is the name of my home and you can read more about the happenings here on my blog. I hope you will have a wander around my website as there are quite a few places to stop and have a browse. All workshops include flowers and you take home your lovely floral creation..

Thank you for reading this bit about me, I hope to welcome you to one of my workshops or for a wedding consultation, or to order a bouquet/arrangement or to treat yourself to some lovely flowers.

Without Susan I can honestly say my wedding floristry business wouldn't be where it is today. I signed up for a one to one course and I was delighted with what I learnt. Susan really listened to what I wanted to get out of the sessions and tailored each element to suit my needs. From to the selection of flowers we worked with, to the advice given on running a floristry business I left feeling armed with the knowledge I needed to take the leap and expand my business.

Highly recommended! A happy three days spent with Susan learning the basic principles of floristry. I have learned so much in a short time and had a lot of fun doing it. Susan is a superb tutor and thankfully very patient! I'm already planning which workshop to do next. Thank you Susan xx

What a wonderful day! I bought my mum a jam jar and jugs workshop for her birthday and we were both over the moon with our experience!  Susan is lovely and the perfect teacher, we thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to come again
