5 day Floristry Career Change Course
NEW for 2022, our 5-day intensive career change programme is the perfect way to kick start your journey into running a successful floristry business.
This course will not only give you the practical skills you need to launch your business, it will also offer you an insight into branding, business models, making a profit, social media and photography.
With over 15 years’ experience as a floristry business owner and educator, you’re in safe hands to learn everything you need to know from creation, to business planning and experience sharing. There’s a lot to be said for ‘lessons learned’ and here at Rose Cottage we pride ourselves on supporting one another through our own learning and experience. During the course you will also meet past and present students who will share their story and offer you guidance for your story.
During the 5 days we will work through everything from the basic hand tied bunch through to creating a sustainable meadow design and how to cost designs. It’s important to be commercially aware.
This Course is all about developing your own creative style, taking the time to master the basics, learn from each other along the way and become part of the Rose Cottage community who will be there to support you every step of the way.
All of our flowers are fresh every day and all of your designs are yours to take home, in total during the 5 days you will create 10 beautiful designs that are yours to photograph and use for your portfolio. Here at Rose Cottage we offer plenty of opportunity to take the perfect photograph and ensure you are happy with the images you take both at Rose Cottage and at home.
We kick off the week by learning all things flowers! During some sessions, you’ll be encouraged to select your own flowers; this will help you learn what works well together in terms of colour palette, textures, seasonality and will help you learn the flower names which is vital in building confidence.
On completion of the course you will receive a Certificate of Completion and a welcome into our Rose Cottage community group, which has now been running for over 3 years.
We see this course as a great starting block for your career but would encourage students to continue their learning through our 4 day wedding floristry course or one of our 1:1 master classes which could include funeral floristry.
The course in detail…

This will be invaluable learning for creating a strong portfolio.
